The criteria for our agents were created with consumer satisfaction in mind, and based on preferences we gathered during interviews with consumers. Our business, and yours, depends on their satisfaction. If you are interested in becoming a Resort Area Specialist (RAS), use this checklist to see if there’s a good match:
1. Successful full-time agent seeking to grow your business. Quality service starts with a dedicated full-time professional who is committed to growing their business. It is likely that you are selling 20+ properties a year.
· How many properties did you sell last year?
2. E-mail friendly. An EH RAS must know how to establish relationship through e-mail and do so in a timely fashion.
· How often do you use e-mail? What would you say to someone who just sends an e-mail address?
3. Listings. Our agents must be able to give the prospects access to their local MLS. Agents with more listings get more leads.
· How many listings do you have for sale or will your broker allow you to post their listings?
4. Assistant or team. We look for agents with support staff to cover the prospect at all times, especially important when you are in a different time zone from your client. Critical for prompt access (coverage during a vacation) and quality service level if closing another property
· Who do you have on your team?
5. Experience. The more years practicing real estate, the more likely you have dealt with a variety of buyers and situations. CRS designation is a plus.
· How long have you been in real estate? Do you have any designations?
6. Local knowledge. Our buyers look for local area experts; that’s what we try to find.
· How well do you know the area? What community involvement?
7. 1031 knowledge. We seek agents with 1031 experience to help with investment property transactions.
· How many have you done? Do you know the timing issues and contracts? Can you supply local rental comps for property listings?
8. Testimonials. We invite our customers to give us feedback on our agents.
· Do you have a list of satisfied customers?
9. Clean license. We and our customers use the state board of realtor sites to check an individual’s record.
· Do you have a clean license? What is your license number?
10. Buyer’s packet. We want our agents to send interested buyers area information.
· Can you send us a sample buyer packet?
