A Postcard From Long Beach Island, NJ
Long Beach Island is our second home getaway. I've never lived in such serene beauty and still had access to our home within hours away.

Long Beach Island
Long Beach Island in Ocean County consists of several townships on an eighteen-mile barrier island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the East and the Barnegat and Little Egg Harbor Bays on the West. At the north end is Barnegat Light and the famous Barnegat Lighthouse, while the southern terminus is home to the Holgate Wildlife Refuge. The beaches on Long Beach Island are white sugar sand, fringed by dunes. Most areas are open to the public for a nominal daily fee. The island is a popular vacation spot for thousands from May to November, and short-term home rentals are abundant throughout the Island.
Housing
The Long Beach Island market remains strong, with appreciation over the past two years reaching double digits. Entry level pricing of single family homes, starts in the mid $500,000, and goes up to several million dollars. Smaller homes are being bought and torn down to make way for new construction of large contemporary style properties. Long Beach Island is a very desirable vacation spot, with clean beaches and friendly communities.
Weather
Long Beach Islands mild winter climate is tempered by the Gulf Stream and the summers are often considerably cooler than nearby New York and Philadelphia.
