About Murphy
Murphy, North Carolina has everything a visitor can possibly want in a North Carolina mountains vacation destination. Murphy, located in Cherokee County, is located in the heart of the Nantahala National Forest, and a stone's throw away from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Of course, the surrounding area, filled with natural wonders, provides outdoor lovers an endless playground of opportunities. You can spend your days hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, fly fishing, swimming, boating, snow skiing, and just about anything else you can imagine.

Murphy offers everything in prime real estate properties, from acreage on which to build your dream home to getaway cabins high up in the peaceful mountains. Whatever you are looking for lakes, rivers, mountain views, gated communities, farms or investment properties.  Murphy is the perfect location for that small-town atmosphere, yet it is centrally located about two hours from major metropolitan areas, including Atlanta, GA, Asheville, NC and Chattanooga, TN.

Weather
Murphy, North Carolina weather is excellent for year-round outdoor activities with its moderate climate. Summers are long and winters are typically mild. Murphy weather conditions to the west are more volatile and can change dramatically producing colder temperatures and more precipitation

Things To Do
The nearby Nantahala River and Ocoe River offer whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and many other recreational facilities for adventurers of all skill levels. The immediate area has many hiking trails, stables, and what some call the best fishing in North Carolina. Lake Hiawassee and Lake Chatugue are minutes away for your boating and swimming pleasure. For those that enjoy dinner out, the town of Murphy is just eight miles down the road. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is an hour away and opens the gateway to the Smokey Mountain National Park. Within an hour of Murphy, you can pan for gold or mine for gems in Franklin, N.C, or visit Anna Ruby Falls and the town of Helen in Georgia.
