The Hamptons

A Postcard From The Hamptons, NY
The Hamptons is the premier location for owning a second home.  We feel very lucky to have found our dream home here.  There is much to do, and we can be back in the city in no time.

About The Hamptons
The Westhampton area is comprised of Westhampton Beach, Quogue, East Quogue, Remsenburg and Hampton Bays. Westhampton features world-class beaches and warm Gulf Stream currents, luring visitors from around the world to make Westhampton their summertime destination! The small, quiet towns have retained their attractive qualities that make any visitor immediately feel at ease. Vacation homeowners and visitors alike, covet the beauty and luxury that Westhampton offers, along with the spectacular summer activities, including craft shows, art exhibits, outdoor concerts, weekly children programs, golf, and fishing. Westhampton Beach offers live theater productions for adults and children at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center. Westhampton visitors adore the clean, wide public and private Dune Road beaches, as well as the sound of crashing waves, the smell of clean salt ocean air, and glorious sunsets and sunrises. The vacation experience of Westhampton beach transforms any visitor into a lover.

Real Estate
The Hamptons is a historic farming and fishing community filled with gently sloping green fields, charming vistas and seafront properties. Known for its sandy beaches and ponds, the Hamptons real estate market is a nature lover's heaven. At the same time, the Hamptons offer a white-hot social scene with gallant fundraisers, world-class equestrian events, art shows, and concerts. Home to many celebrity summer homes, the nightlife is filled with parties, openings and events.  Homes range from one-bedroom bungalows to converted barns to $50 million Southampton estates with helipads.   The Hamptons features waterfront estates (with movie theater, gym, guest house and heated pool) to a fully furnished one-bedroom co-op apartment (with common swimming pool and tennis courts, and water views) for $180,000. Looking to carve your own castle in the sands? You'll find hundreds of open lots and local builders.

Weather
Weather is usually sunny and pleasant, with little rain and temperatures in the mid-60s to -70s by day, and about 10 degrees cooler at night.  During winter month's temperatures dwell in the 30's to 40's with some snowfall. The Atlantic also stays pretty mild, at around 70 degrees.

Things To Do
The Hamptons is the hot summer spot for the well to do West Coast crowd.  Although soaking up the glitzy atmosphere is half the fun of a visit here, you can also have a look at the Whaling Museum in Sag Harbor, the impressive Parrish Art Museum in Southampton or play a round on the fine Montauk Downs golf course. East Hampton is the heart of the Hampton scene, and worth a visit if you enjoy envying the lifestyles of the rich and famous. It also has some excellent restaurants and nightspots.
